Feel like I haven't blogged in yearsssssssssssss!!!
Been a bit distracted lately...but i'm back.
Ok so it was my birthday a little while ago (Happy Birthday Reenii!!!) thanks ;)
So I decided to treat myself by getting my nails done at
Wah Nails.
Now I've know about
Wah Nails for quite a few years now, especially since their first nail salon was opened in my home town of Hackney, London.
I'd known them to be like an alternative nail salon as they are well known for their amazing nail art and designs.
Now I say 'treat myself' as going to
Wah Nails kinda has to be just a 'treat' as their prices are on the high side. But what with it being my birthday and all I was like f*ck it!
So one lunch break (they have a branch in Soho) I booked an appointment and got my nails did!
The salon itself is extremely trendy looking, full of colour, and obviously a lot of nail designs on the wall. When I went in there was a girl getting her eye-brows done so I guess they do that also.
I was taken downstairs and placed with the lovely Anoushka who did my nails (shes amazing)
Now I had no idea what I wanted, what colour, design, nothing - I was clueless...
So after scrolling through
Wah Nails Instagram account I mixed and matched ideas that I'd seen to come up with what I chose to have in the end.
My nails took around and hour and a half to do (thank God I told my manager beforehand that I was taking a long lunch lol) and when it was done I was taken back upstairs to pay.
So........... there isn't really a price list as such at
Wah Nails, like there is a general price guide but mine for example was worked out randomly by a woman standing behind the till, tapping at a calculator.
They base the price on nail art, nail design difficulty, whether all the fingers are painted the same, or if any of the fingers are different (or that's the explanation when I asked how the price was worked out when she turned around and said £60! to me!!!!).......This is what I mean when I said at the beginning that I went to Wah Nails as a 'treat' LOL...my normal gel refill in the endz is £20! LOL
Now I do love my nails, and the nail technicians are extremely talented and do an amazing job. I could never be a nail technician my hands are no way near steady, so all props to them!
I;ve noticed as well that they haven't chipped at all (after 2 weeks) and I know if I got my regular Shellac from my usual place they would of chipped after a week, So the quality of the nail polish's are really good too, so you are getting what you pay for,
All I need now is for them to re-open the Dalston branch, I overheard another customer asking them about that branch (as they currently are renting that space out at the moment) and its hopeful that they're going to re-open it again soon.......
That's probably when I'll be going back to have them done again as they gave me a discount for my next visit - I'm gonna need it!!!
